Satyajit Ray, Cinema and Marxism
Years ago I used to regularly write a column for Rediff which would be published under the tag 'Agent Provocateur', from which this Blog derives its name. One of the columns I wrote was headlined "Satyajit Ray, Marxism and my other self". My views on Satyajit Ray and his awesome body of work are likely to have changed since then, but the reason I mention this particular column is because one of the readers of this Blog has posted a message, asking me what do I think about Ray and Marxism, or words to that effect. He may want to read this article!

Dear Mr Gupta,
I have been reading articles written by you since quite some time now. I have at time agreed, and other times disagreed with your opinions. There is however one aspect on which my opinion of every single of your posts is the same- your English, Sir, is impeccable.
If only I could write as well as you do. If only your peers could write as well as you do.
Thank you so much.
